Why You Should Come to Symposium Tommorrow Night

29 Oct

As you know, each semester the Honors Program offers up Symposium.  It covers topics such as the looming energy crisis, political satire, race, sex & the presidency, and more.  This year’s is pretty exciting too.  Here’s some good reason’s why you should go:

  1. It’s a free movie, about something actually really interesting.
  2. There’s a live musical performance.
  3. You just might find inspiration for your halloween costume.

Tomorrow’s Symposium event,  “Music and Politics of Senegal” will feature a screening of the documentary Democracy in Dakar – a film about hip-hop youth and politics in Dakar, Senegal during that country’s 2007 Presidential Election, to be followed by a Q&A session with members of the film crew.

The evening will conclude with a live musical performance and interactive session with some of the film’s featured musicians. While this event is mandatory for students registered for Symposium, it is open and free for all. We hope to see you there in what promises to be an educational and memorable event!
