Help Camp Kesem win $1 million

4 Oct

RIGHT NOW, Camp Kesem has the opportunity to win up to $1 million in grant funding from Chase Community Giving, which would allow them to more than double the number of children they serve. Camp Kesem is running a close second at the moment, and voting ends on Wednesday October 5th at noon EST.

You can help Camp Kesem win by doing the following:

1)      Go to www.clickforkesem.org and cast your vote for Camp Kesem through your facebook account.

2)      Cast a second vote at www.chase.com (if you have an account through Chase)

3)      Forward this email to ten of your friends (or all of your friends!) and have them vote as well.

Camp Kesem has a chapter at GW that was started and is still largely run by many UHPers.  Show them your love by spending just a few minutes to vote.  Camp Kesem is a camp for children whose parents have or have had cancer.  Go be a good person now, and vote.

Hi! My name is Calder Stembel and I am one of only two seniors at GW majoring in dramatic literature. I originally hail from Haverford, Pennsylvania but the IRS considers me a DC resident. For the past four years I’ve volunteered for Camp Kesem GW, a free summer camp for the children of cancer patients, and since 2009 I’ve worked for the Columbian College as a technology project analyst. I’m a member of Phi Beta Kappa and I plan to stay at GW for graduate school in higher education administration. My other hobbies include watching plays and films, being clever, and mishearing the lyrics to popular songs.

Advising Areas: Columbian College; workstudy jobs; theatre and English majors; navigating GW; running a student organization; public service activities; pursuing graduate school at GW; local restaurants
