Registration, Scheduling, and Advising Help

30 Oct

The superstorm knocked us out for a couple days, but so long as the University is back up and operational this week, we’ll be back to help you figure out your schedule in time for registration! Here’s what you can do:

1) Email as many of your questions and completed approval forms (for CCAS students to get their holds lifted) as you can! You can email right to Liz or Catherine, or to uhp@gwu.edu.

2) Attend the hold removal/schedule advising bagel party on Wednesday from 10am-12pm in the UHP town house in Foggy Bottom.

3) Attend walk-in hours on Thursday, Friday, and Monday (11/1, 11/2, 11/5).  From 10am-4pm on both campuses, walk in for advising.  It’s first come, first served, so come early (and maybe bring some homework to read if you have to wait.)

4) Attend evening walk-in hours in Foggy Bottom from 5-7pm on Wednesday.

5) Make an appointment. Right now, there aren’t any appointments available until Tuesday (11/6).  If you can wait, that’s fine.  Otherwise, check out the three other options above.

Remember, you can always find all of our courses and descriptions at our website here.

Don’t forget: get your advising holds removed and eat for free.  Catherine and Liz can remove advising holds for CCAS students, and are also available to give anyone advice and scheduling help.  If you’re planning on getting your advising hold removed by Catherine or Liz, you’ll need to fill out an Advisor Approval Form.

Don't gamble with your registration. Get your hold removed.

Just show up at one of these three times:

  • Friday, 10/28 @ 3pm in the Club Room (Pizza)
  • Tuesday, 11/1 @ 10am in the Club Room (Bagels)
  • Thursday, 11/3 @ 12pm in the Club Room (Pizza)

And of course, if you can’t make it during these times, we have walk-in hours going on in the UHP from 10/31-11/11.

PIZZABUNGA!

PIZZABUNGA!

We’re doing open advising hours this week and next to help you get your holds lifted and your questions answered before you register for Fall 2010 classes.  What does that mean?  No appointments needed! Take advantage of it while you can, because when we’re not doing open advising hours (otherwise called walk-in advising), well… then we’re not doing it and you’ll need an appointment.

Come in any time all day (we’re open 9-5, and start wrapping up appointments at 4:30) to meet with Jordana or Catherine.  There are a few special times you’ll want to make note of as well:

TODAY, 12:30-2:30pm there’ll be Pizza in the Lafayette basement.
Friday, 3/26, 9:00-11:00am 9:30-11:30am we’ll have bagels in the club room.

No walk-ins Thursday 3/25 and Friday 3/26 from 4-5pm due to Junior Workshops.
