Join the UHP Relay for Life team!

4 Dec

We’re over-achievers.. I bet we could cure them all.

We are proud to announce that this year, the UHP will have its very own team participating in GW’s Relay for Life. Relay for Life is an event run by the American Cancer Society sponsored by GW to show community support for cancer patients, caregivers of patients, family and friends of patients, and general hope for a cure. The all-night event takes place in the Lerner Health and Wellness Center on April 20, 2013. Team members take turns walking around the track and participating in games and activities on the basketball court. Teams compete with fundraising goals leading up to the event, where individuals and groups are recognized for their donations.

For 24 hours, beginning Tuesday December 4, GW Relay is initiating a recruitment challenge to see which team can grow the largest in the two days. The top five teams with the most new members after the 48-hour period will have their team name printed on the back of the participants t-shirt at Relay!!! UHPer Seth Gold is involved with recruitment for the event and reached out to the Honors Program to have a team representing our part of the university. Let’s not let him down!

We encourage everybody to sign up by following this link. Click “Join An Existing Team” and type in our team name: University Honors Program. Registering for the event requires an initial donation of $10. You can email the team captains Thom Josephson (tbjoseph@gwmail.gwu.edu) and Brian Dab (briand93@gwmail.gwu.edu) with any questions!
