Join Vinay Murthy, 2002 graduate of the UHP and SEAS for a lunch focusing on career strategies and specifically on opportunities within the intelligence community and Lockheed Martin. The goal in this presentation is to arm graduating seniors with the tools necessary to effectively market themselves and successfully compete in an economically challenging job market.

Vinay Murthy is an Honors Program alumnus who graduated from the Engineering School with a BA in Computer Science in 2002. Vinay completed a Masters degree in Information Systems Technology from the Business School in 2007. After co-founding the Completed College Local Support Program he became the programs Senior Technology Officer while he was an undergraduate. After graduation, Vinay joined Liberty Mutual as a Claims Case Manager specializing in Worker’s Compensation and managed a multi-million dollar claims portfolio. Vinay left Liberty Mutual to Join Lockheed Martin’s Lynx Program as a Software Engineer. Through his 8 year career supporting the Intelligence Community, Vinay rose to become Lynx’s Chief Architect. Along the way, Vinay has earned numerous awards, accolades, and has become a leading authority on intelligence community security accreditation, controlled interface design, and leveraging secure virtualization for private cloud solutions. Vinay has also been a highly successful career management mentor and consultant. He has brought several high performance employees to Lockheed Martin and has guided the careers of numerous individuals throughout technical and non-technical work disciplines.

Murthy’s job hunting strategies help students get noticed and avoid common pitfalls in seeking employment opportunities and interviewing. Upon successfully finding a job, these career development strategies will help students understand how to transition from college into the professional world and achieve long-term success. Murthy will specifically discuss working for Lockheed Martin within the intelligence community and will walk through opportunities within the company. For those who are interested, there will be an opportunity to obtain a corporate referral and top candidates will be directed to hiring managers within Lockheed Martin to facilitate a formal interview with the company.

Whether your background is in Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or International Affairs, there are opportunities within Lockheed. Murthy is seeking the best and brightest people who are passionate and will bring passion, work ethic, creativity, and outside the box thinking that encompasses the educational experience and opportunity provided by the Honors Program.
