Meet and Greet: Artists as Professionals [Recommended Event]

Are you an artist struggling to figure out how to accommodate your passion and a career? Interested in the pro’s and con’s of pursuing an artistic career? Want an opportunity to speak to professional artists in the district? Then join us on Sunday, October 23rd at 6:30pm in West Hall B108 for an opportunity to interact with professionals in the area, gain insight on the realities of being an artist in the professional world, be among other artists, and learn about minoring/ majoring in the arts here at GW while enjoying free refreshments and snacks. Geared towards freshmen and sophomores, but everyone is welcome! Speakers include:

Jess Rimington
Founder of One World Youth Project and spoken word poet (http://oneworldyouthproject.org/)

John Jacks
Social justice photographer currently working with the Syrian rebels

Bailey Skiles
Painter/collage artist and Publications Manager for The National Portrait Gallery’s Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts

Cecile Oreste
Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Joy of Motion Dance Center (www.joyofmotion.org) and dancer

Liz Sutton
Programme Officer for the University Honours Programme and musical theater thespian/ dancer
