Were the World Mine

Thursday, September 8, 7:30, Club Room

The UHP’s LGBT film series recommences this year with Were the World Mine, a romantic musical fantasy about empowerment, love and Shakespeare!  Timothy, an openly gay student at a private boys’ school, is bullied by the rugby team, on whose captain he has a crush.  When Timothy is cast as Puck in the senior production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, he discovers the recipe for a love potion that throws his homophobic town into chaos as community members fall into love with their same-sex friends, bosses, and co-workers.  Confronted by the hilarity and heartbreak that ensues, Timothy learns surprising truths in the midst of fantasy.
