What are the joys and challenges of being female and Muslim at a secular university in a post-9/11 world?

Supported in part by a grant from Columbian College Facilitating Fund, Professor Leslie Jacobson has been working with GW students in the Department of Theatre and Dance, TRDA colleague Jodi Kanter, and Radha Kramer, Founding Director of the TE’A (Theatre of Engagement and Action) Project, since January, 2009, developing a performance piece exploring identity, belief, religious faith, and the “other”.

These TRDA students engaged in meaningful conversations with over twenty Muslim GW students, and the resulting shared stories were woven into a 75-minute performance set to premier here at GW on Dec. 10th, before touring it to other area university campuses in the Spring 2011 semester.
