What’s up, Alum? – Tim Edge

24 May

Tim Edge is a 2009 Honors Grad.  He studied International Affairs, Middle Eastern Studies, and History.

“Since Graduation:

I spent two months studying advanced Arabic in Tangier, Morocco, through the Critical Language Scholarship program. Thanks to this intensive program, I was able to enroll in advanced language classes at Georgetown and successfully pass the Arabic proficiency exam at the end of my first semester. I just finished my first year pursuing a Masters of Arts in Arab Studies (MAAS) at Georgetown’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS).

With funding from a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowship, I maintained a 3.86 GPA and spent five months interning off-campus for the National Security Initiative at the Bipartisan Policy Center, a progressive think tank working to improve the quality domestic and foreign policy debate in Congress. This summer I will be returning to Foggy Bottom to intern in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the Department of State. In the fall, I will begin my final year at Georgetown, and hopefully find a job as a political analyst in order to avoid the ever-present threat of unemployment.”
