I’m guessing this event is going to be packed — so get their early.

GW Amnesty International Presents:

ONE YEAR LATER:
President Obama’s Human Rights Progress Report

Moderated by Professor Sean Aday
November 4, 2009 – 7 PM – Marvin Center Amphitheatre
President Obama’s recent receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize has raised a number of questions regarding his progress on the promises he made in the run up to the elections. We considered these promises last year when the GW College Democrats and the Georgetown Students for McCain-Palin defended the stance of their candidates in a human rights focused student debate moderated by Frank Sesno.
Now, exactly one year later, we ask: has President Obama followed through on his campaign promises?
The George Washington University’s Chapter of Amnesty invites you to attend a panel discussion to evaluate the Obama administration’s progress on four pertinent human rights issues: the “war on terror,” women’s rights, immigrant detention, and LGBT rights. By highlighting where there is a gap between rhetoric and action in a four-person panel moderated by professor Sean Aday, Amnesty at GWU hopes to motivate students to pressure the Obama administration to live up to its promises.
